                                                            “Prosperous Partnerships”

This will be a panel discussion with Michelle MacLennan of Chandler Center for the Arts, Julie Richard of West Valley Fine Arts Council and Tara Kissane of the Higley Center for the Performing Arts. Each of these presenters enjoys partnerships with school districts.  Come see how the lessons they've learned can apply to your own partnerships with schools and beyond.  A few of the issues they will address are:

*How do you approach potential partners?
*What opportunities and challenges do partnerships create?
*How do you start partnerships?
*How do you nurture partnerships?
*How do you know if it's working?

Our trio of discussion leaders will bring plenty of examples about collaboration and communication, important when competing partners' have plans that coincide on the same day.  Also, Julie will give us a preview of the points in her June presentation for the Americans for the Arts conference.  She will detail WVFAC's role in strengthening arts within the school district through a program that's unique in the country. In addition, WVFAC is working with West Valley cities to establish and implement a cultural blueprint.

There is no cost for this workshop.

GENERAL PARKING INFO:
 The gallery is located in the downtown "square" area of Chandler, which is just south of the Chandler Boulevard/Arizona Avenue intersection.  Proceed on Arizona Avenue (Country Club Drive in Mesa) south through Chandler Boulevard.  Turn west from Arizona Avenue onto Buffalo Street, and then turn south onto San Marcos Place.  The gallery is south of the San Marcos resort and north of Boston Street, the street that forms the south side of the "square." Parking is located throughout the downtown area, but if parking near the gallery is full, drive behind (south) of the shops on Boston Street (a wedding shop is on the SW corner of Arizona Ave. and Boston Street) and park in the large lot back there.  Walk through the breezeway located by Kokopelli Winery and Bistro to get back to the retail storefronts.  These locations are all very close to each other.
