The Arizona Presenters Board of Directors decided that with this Regional Conference coming to Phoenix this year around our normal Retreat time, we felt it would serve our members better to assist them in attending the WAA Conference. The will be so much more for all our members at this conference then we could possibly attempt to offer at one of our Retreats.
With that said, we will be offering Travel Awards to the WAA conference just like we have done for the Retreat in the past, and have worked with the Staff at WAA to offer a special discount for APA members.
Travel Awards Form: This is the form to use to submit for one of the travel awards for assistance to go to the WAA Conference in Phoenix.
Here is the text from a letter describing this opportunity.
In this challenging environment we are all looking for solutions, making tough decisions, and developing plans and
strategies to guide our organizations into the future. You can count on the Western Arts Alliance (WAA) and our
Annual Conference, taking place August 31‐September 4 in Phoenix, to bring together the best minds in the field to
help inform and strengthen touring and presenting.
Whether you are looking for answers and inspiration related to programming, marketing, operations, audience
development, or board development, the Western Arts Alliance Annual Conference has the speakers, workshops,
forums, exhibits, networking events and showcases you need. And right now, in partnership with Arizona Presenters Alliance, we are offering you a price at such great value even your board treasurer would applaud.
To encourage you to take advantage of the conference in your backyard, we are extending special rates to
organizations that join APA. If you join the Arizona Presenters Alliance you will receive a discount code to save 50 percent off nonmember rates!
Western Arts Alliance (WAA) is a membership association of touring and performing arts professionals engaged in

planning, and educational outreach. In addition, there are generally more than 70 showcases, nearly 200 exhibiting
agents, artists, and producing companies, and friendly and informative networking sessions where you can learn and share ideas with colleagues.
The Arizona Arts Commission also has a limited number of scholarships to help presenters attend the conference. For more information, contact Jennifer Tsukayama at 602‐771‐6531.
