Membership Information

The membership of Arizona Presenters Alliance is divided into five classifications:

Presenting Organizations

A presenting organization is one that selects artists and arts groups, engages them to perform or exhibit, pays them a fee, and brings them together with audiences.

Presenting organizations also manage all the presentation details, from hall arrangements and stagehands to ushers, box office, and publicity. Some presenters house resident companies, and some commission and/or produce works as well. Presenting organizations are a crucial link between artists and audiences. Presenters provide many artist with their primary performance and exhibition opportunities, and they provide many audiences with their primary access to the arts.

Requirements for Membership as a Presenting Organization:

  • Be a nonprofit organization that presents artists as described above.
  • Pay current annual dues to APA.
  • Adhere to the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) Code of Conduct.

Benefits of Membership as a Presenting Organization:

  • Allowed to attend scheduled meetings and network with other presenters and have discussions on all types of artists.
  • Allowed to attend professional development sessions for free or at reduced prices.
  • Receive email blasts with helpful information and current information from the field.
  • Receive copies of meeting minutes, newsletter and the annual calendar when published.
  • Have full member access to the Alliance Web Site, with Block Booking Calendar, directory listings and message center.
  • Opportunity to purchase the printed Alliance Directory at a discount.
  • Opportunity to provide service to the field in an official elected or appointed position with the Alliance.

Affiliate Organizations

Other organizations that do not present guest artists - such as arts commissions, associations, municipalities, alliances - which provide artists and/or arts institutions with the resources necessary for growth and development and which have as a strong component an interest in touring and presenting.

Requirements & Benefits of Membership:

Same as for Presenting Organizations.

Associate Members

Additional persons associated with Presenting or Affiliate Organizations members.

Requirements & Benefits of Membership:

Same as for Presenting Organizations.

Individual Members

Persons who are artists or non-artists, and have a strong interest in the touring and presentation of the arts in Arizona.

Requirements for Membership:

  • Pay current annual dues to Arizona Presenters Alliance.

Benefits of Membership as an Individual Member:

  • Allowed to attend professional development sessions for free or at a reduced prices.
  • Receive email blasts with helpful information and current information from the field.
  • Receive copies of newsletter and annual calendar when published.
  • Opportunity to purchase the printed Annual Directory at a discount.
  • Opportunity to provide service to the field in an official elected or appointed position with the Alliance.

Business Members

Business organizations or individuals with a strong interest in support of the touring and presentation of the arts in Arizona.

Requirements & Benefits of Membership:

Same as for Individual Members.

Plus: Listing in newsletter when published and one email blast to membership discussing or promoting your business and/or artists.
